Direct Seed: Seed as soon as soil can be worked until 6 weeks before first frost. Seeds can be sown in tunnel or greenhouse to extend the season. Soil temperature for germination is 45-75° F, with best germination in cool soil.
Spacing: Seeds 2-4" apart in rows that are 12-18" apart for bunching. Seeds ½” apart in rows that are 4-8" apart or in 2-4" bands for baby leaf production, at ½" depth.
Growth needs: Grows best in fertile soil with good moisture. Make sure to choose the appropriate variety for your desired growing period.
Harvest: Harvest when leaves are of desired size for bunching or baby leaf. Plants generally do not hold well in the field.
